Now open for inspection is Ballarat's first and only 7 Star energy rated display home.
The 7 Star Low Energy Charity Home demonstrates a multitude of environmentally friendly initiatives and energy saving measures you can take in you're own home, inside and out.
"The goal of this project is to demonstrate an informative, hands on environment with no pressure selling for people to come, look, observe, touch and feel how the variety of energy saving and environmentally friendly features work; how they perform and how they might impact on the lives of the families in the home environment" the Ballarat Foundation website explains.
"This project allows individuals to make incremental changes that they understand and are comfortable with; in what is essentially considered to be the expected standard of urban living. Collectively this can make a significant difference."
The 7 Star Home is open Saturday and Sunday 1pm - 5pm at the corner of Dyson Drive and Chase Boulevard. The Chase, Alfredton.
