Seven Years in the Making: Integra Launches Insignia Ballarat
27th February 2009

The Integra Group has announced the long-awaited launch of its prestigious new residential precinct, Insignia Ballarat, with the first stage released on 23 February 2009.

Situated exclusively between the Avenue of Honour and the new Ballarat Golf Course, Insignia is in walking distance to Lake Wendouree and the centre of Ballarat.  It is set amid forty-five hectares of prime land and parkland and will reflect the best traditions of Ballarat in a contemporary setting - Insignia Ballarat is one of the most unique and exciting developments Ballarat has ever seen.

Richard Howell, Development Manager for Insignia explains, ‘Insignia Ballarat represents the jewel in Integra’s crown – it is a great source of pride for every member of our staff.  Integra is committed to delivering a residential community that is of a quality never before seen in Ballarat.  We want to bring prospective clients to Insignia Ballarat throughout the next 20 to 30 years and use the ‘home-town’ project as an example of how to create prestigious and beautiful developments in regional Australia.’

‘This complex project will deliver the Ballarat community a brand new, Thomson Perrett designed championship 18-hole golf course, a new multi-million dollar clubhouse, as well as the Avenue of Honour preserved and enhanced for the future.  Of equal importance, Insignia Ballarat will deliver a residential community that is beyond what is typically offered in standard residential developments,’ Richard went on to say.

Some of the features of Insignia Ballarat are:

  • Extra wide lots averaging 22m and design guidelines meaning the quality of the built form is ensured and there will be a significant amount of space between each building.

  •  Wider than standard streetscapes to allow large tree planting – one of the key features in some of Ballarat’s best loved streets and reflecting Ballarat’s Garden City reputation.

  • A network of footpaths that provides connection to Prince of Wales Park and the Ballarat Aquatic Centre, the Ballarat Botanical Gardens, Lake Wendouree, the new Wendouree train station and the region’s best schools not only for residents of Insignia but also those who live in the surrounding areas.

The launch of Insignia Ballarat follows much public anticipation, with over three hundred people registering their interest- some as long as seven years ago.  The homesites for sale are in the Golf Club Precinct, located overlooking the golf course, Sturt Street and next to the new multi-million dollar clubhouse.

Richard concludes, ‘Insignia Ballarat has been laid out by the best urban designers, planners and architects we could gather.  Each Insignia homesite has been carefully designed so that residents can build the home they’ve always wanted, right in the centre of town.  We are proud and excited about this project and we are sure it will create a new benchmark for quality living in regional Victoria’.
